What Is Collagen Really?

After reading this, you'll pay more attention to collagen. I feel that more people should know more about this protein our body produces naturally and so I'm going to give a quick rundown on this.

Collagen is produced by the body and is a protein in our connective tissue that makes our skin elastic and youthful (Among other things). UV rays and environmental factors form free radicals in the skin that destroy cells and collagen. As we age, our skin doesn't produce as much collagen as it did before and our skin starts to look dry, wrinkled, saggy and dull.

Will drinking collagen help replace collagen? There's a science behind the efficacy of this, meaning there has to be a certain percentage of collagen to be consumed per day in order for it to be effective. Not every collagen drink is for real.

So what else can you do?

Vitamin E and vitamin C are excellent antioxidants. This means that they neutralize the cell and collagen damaging free radicals in your skin. This actually boosts collagen production making your skin tighter, plumper, more elastic and clear.

Such antioxidants are best delivered when they penetrate the skin through a serum. For vitamin C to be effective in a serum, you need about a 10% concentration.

Here's The Solution

The fact is, this will help your skin look fresher and clearer and you'll find less need to put on make up. Who doesn't dream of this?
