Hyaluronic Acid vs moisturizers - Any difference?
These days, it's very common to see moisturizers containing hyaluronic acid. Brands also tend to charge a premium for such products. Is it justified? You don't know what's the percentage of hyaluronic acid added to the moisturizer, it's always best to buy it in serum form to get more value for your money.
Hyaluronic acid is able to attract lots of moisture thus acting as a plumping agent that helps skin stay elastic and hydrated. It's actually naturally present in the body and skin, but some people may produce less than others. Moisturizer contains ingredients that create a blanket over the skin, trapping moisture, preventing skin from losing moisture to the environment.
If your skin is oily, using a hyaluronic acid serum alone is great to make your skin look fresh. Skip the moisturizer.
